Testimonials

"“After searching high and low for a company to remove a large number of CRT monitors from our business, we found ARC quite by chance on the internet. That chance proved to be very advantageous. Bradd and Chris removed the monitors quickly and efficiently and with a smile! We have since used them to remove other items such as large copiers and printers/plotters. ARC is now our first stop when we need to remove or recycle any equipment according to the WEEE directive. “ "

Fluorescent Tube Recycling Service

Why do we need To Recycle Fluorescent Tubes?

The WEEE directive is aimed at encouraging the reuse and recycling of materials, minimising the negative environmental aspects of disposal, and cutting down on production of new materials. Fluorescent tubes are, as a result of these regulations, classed as hazardous waste, and disposing of them at landfill sites is no longer an option. There are approximately 60million tubes available for recycling in the UK, and still, only a percentage of these find their way back into the recycling loop.

What are the benefits of Recycling Tubes?

  • Minimises health and safety risks to staff, including glass breakages
  • Improves site housekeeping, storing hazardous waste can lead to prosecution
  • Prevents mercury from entering the eco-system
  • Shows best environmental practices
  • Recovering these materials and resources will otherwise be lost to landfill.

Collecting Your Flourescent Tubes?

Fluorescent tube collections are best arranged either via our Website or by telephone. Collection dates will be confirmed immediately and collections are guaranteed to be carried out within 7 days of a collection request.

Paperwork is supplied by ARC, and liability for transportation and disposal is accepted at the point of collection. Suitable containers for storage and to assist in transportation will be provided upon request.

ARC will offer a range of specialist containers for fluorescent tubes and will collect from 20-1000 lamps, dependent upon your specific needs. Sodium and other lamps will be collected in drums. Details available upon request.

Drivers are issued with computer generated transfer notes and collection orders, allowing for materials to be logged at the point of collection, and then onto our computer system upon return to our facility. The information includes collection time and date, confirmation of authorised personnel as well as details of load and destination.
